The Slurpee Story

We think that showing our caregivers we appreciate them is very important. We know most people value more in life than just their paycheck! If you receive a compliment from a client or a caregiver, we let the world know on Facebook. If you go above and beyond our expectations, we make an Instagram post about it. And sometimes, when you are pulling a long shift, your care manager shows up to to show her appreciation for your hard work with a slurpee.

After being called in to do an emergency overnight shift, one of our caregivers was met by her care manager. This caregiver had done an exceptional job at the last minute and gave up her time to work with one of our wonderful clients. Her care manager met her in the parking lot to drive her to her home (she was having car problems and we will always find a way to get a caregiver to a senior in need of care), and saw two Slurpees in the cup holders.

Our care manager wanted to share a slushie with the caregiver after a long week. The caregiver appreciated this small act so much she teared up. At 1776, we make big gestures to help our caregivers excel, but we know that small gestures of appreciation, like this, can make all the difference.
